How a local Ojai art gallery replaced ConnectTeam with a custom Sigil-powered POS, scheduling, and team management system.
The Problem
Poppies Art & Gifts is a brick-and-mortar gallery in Ojai, California. They were paying for ConnectTeam ($40/mo) for scheduling, plus a separate POS system, plus spreadsheets for inventory. Three systems that did not talk to each other.
The Solution
We built four custom Sigil CMS plugins:
- Poppies POS — Point-of-sale register with Stripe Terminal integration, product grid, cart, cash/card/split payments
- Shifts — Employee scheduling with shift swaps, coverage requests, and calendar view
- Messaging — Team chat rooms and direct messages (replaced group text threads)
- Notifications — Push notifications for shift reminders, coverage requests, and announcements
The Result
All four plugins run on the same Sigil CMS instance that powers their website. Zero additional monthly cost — the plugins are part of the platform. The team manages their schedule, processes sales, and communicates in one place.
What Made It Work
